About me
Dr. Nathan E. Harrison is a lecturer in the Department of Deaf Education at the NTID/RIT, focusing on digital teaching and learning, Deaf/Hard of Hearing pedagogy, bilingual instruction, and Deaf Educational Leadership. He has degrees in Math & Science Education (BS, Utah State University), Bi-Bi Deaf Education (MEd, Utah State University), and Educational Leadership (EdD, University of New Mexico). He began his career as a math teacher at the New Mexico School for the Deaf, later serving as Assistant Principal. Nathan then held leadership roles at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind, including Assistant Director at JMS (Salt Lake City), Curriculum Director for USD, and Director of the Elizabeth DeLong School of the Deaf (Springville/Provo). In 2024, he transitioned to higher education to support educator preparation and develop a Deaf Educational Leadership program. Originally from Vernal, UT, Nathan discovered his passion for Deaf education at Utah State University. He is lucky to be the husband to Mackenzie and father to Henry, Lucy, and Margot.
